Authorisation means that companies are registered with the Authority in order to provide electronic communication services and / or provide electronic communication networks, and these companies are given specific rights and obligations for electronic communication services.

In accordance with the Electronic Communications Law No. 5809, it is among the duties of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority to make regulations on authorisation and to issue secondary regulations regarding electronic communications, taking into account the strategies and policies of the Ministry.

With authorisation, it is mainly aimed in electronic communications sector to:

  • Create a competitive environment by increasing the number of players in the sector,
  • Establish an atmosphere of trust in the sector,
  • Promote domestic and foreign investment,
  • Ensure the healthy development of the sector,
  • Use country sources in an efficient and fertile way
  • Spread services,
  • Ensure the provision of services of certain quality to consumers,
  • and to protect the consumers.
